22/02/10: EVENT CANCELLED!
Sadly we have had to cancel our event for Student Volunteering Week following heavy rain. When it rains very heavily, raw sewage is released into the river through 'CSO's (controlled sewage outlets). The reason this happens is the sewerage system cannot cope with the additional rainwater; to prevent it from overflowing into the streets and our homes, it is released into the river. Obviously we do not want to be working around raw sewage!

It is very rare that Thames21 cancels events, we're really sorry for any inconvenience caused. Please see the events calendar for more upcoming events.
